Another year has pass and the dawn of a new year is coming. Every second as the earth spins, the boar inch closer and closer to the finish line. Once the boar reach the line it will be another twelve years of seperation. As everyone prepares to usher in the coming of the earth Rat, the boar slips behind peoples mind and soon be forgotten. The boar year was not a very good year for me personally, it was as forcasted by some of the feng shui guru out there. Though am not a practioner i do believe in all this stuff but not to the extent of being very obnoxious.
The approaching of the rat year seems to be a good year for boars, but will be plague by ill health, so in order to protect myself from taking frequent MC, i will have to plan more rides and bring my doggies out for their walk.
Anyway, you guys have any wishes for the coming rat year? By the way, just a personal prediction and a go at being a feng shui master. hehe…I foresee that this year will be a very good year to invest in property as well as crops commodities (but beware commodities are dangerous stuff) cos this year is the year of the earth rat. With the rat digging, earth loosen and we will see more gold being unearth, but beware there are always two sides to a coin. Too much lose earth may cause land erosion. Therefore i don’t wipe off the fact of natural calmities happening in the likes of earthquake and land slide. I guess that’s it for my prediction.
Wish everyone a happy Ratty Chinese New Year. And may all of us be bless with good wealth and good fortune.

Woke up early at 6.15am on a public holiday when most working adults are still snoring away. Dragging my heavy body towards the bathroom to wash up before setting off for my first long ride ever since getting my roadie. I was partially excited but a bit wary of my own body condition as well.
Still i set off around 7am and reach the meeting point roughly around 7.20am. 5 minutes later Dc arrived and we started our journey at 7.30am.
The first 10km was a bit tough and was actually breathing quite hard. Guess I wasn’t warm up yet. Once after the 10km mark, i got better and the ride begins to seem easy. Had the urge to actually ask Dc to speed up but thought better of it. To think back i think i made a good decision.
When we reach the road heading towards genting sempah, i was doing a steady 16-18kmh. The climb was quite easy at the begining and never thought better of it. We even manage to catch up with a group of cyclist but by the looks of them are quite seasoned guys. Later when Dc had a chat with them only i realized that they are actually slowing their pace and was accompanying their friend who is a newbie. Seeing that myself is also a newbie we rode together with them.
At the last league of the climb the guys ask us to move forward. Without hesitating i begin to pedal faster. I thought nothing much of the climb when i started going faster, but gradually i begin to slow down. About 2-3km away i begin to falter and i even gave up at one point but thanks to Dc’s motivational talk i was able to push myself to cycle again.
All in all, the ride was fun, and as always, after the hard ascend there will be the sweet decend. Overall distance that i rode today was 60km and i think i should give myself a pat on the back for being able to do that. Still a shout out to Dc for being such a great friend for showing me the way and giving me the motivation to finish it. thanks man! Hope to ride again with you soon.

Woke up around 6.35 this morning to go for my first 10km ride. The route: from my house –> sri petaling –> astro –> sg. besi highway –>dunia perabot –> kuchai lama –> home. The total distance is about 14.4km and i did it in 35 minutes. The ride was faster than i thought and is not as hard as i have imagined but the flipside was, despite being so early in the morning, the traffic along sg besi highway is quite heavy. All in all, a good ride and i am quite pleased with myself cos i hit a top speed of 47kmh and had an average of 24kmh speed. Now all i am waiting is the backlash of the ride, which is sore legs.

Mmm… let us start the new year with some adrenaline rushing through the veins. And in any case that you are wondering what is the song that they are rocking to, it’s a cover of Micheal Jackson’s Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm.
Watch it a few times.

A bit late for this, but can’t seem to get this off my mind really have to blog this down. The long awaited match which i have anticipated being played is finally here, and what more, i get to watch it live at the stadium. Pistol Pete my all time favourite was indeed a great tennis player but guess no one man can be great forever. With his hunch posture and jovial face, one could not imagine him being the former world number one (well that’s my impression). Having to face the one who is dominating the tennis world now is indeed a tough job.
Between Roger Federer (my current fav) and Pete Sampras (all time fav), i can say my shouts all went out to Pete but the match was kind of disappointing. After all it is an exhibition match and no one will expect Roger Federer to go all out and slaughter Pete with 6-0, 6-0 score line right? There were fairly quite a number of nice shots and thrilling ball play but the most disappointing thing is the linesmen sucks big time and the ball boys all blur like sotong.

Does any of you out there know what monsoon cup is actually all about? It is actually a prestigious sailing event and it is part of the Swedish Match Tour.
Monsoon Cup was first initiated by the Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi during his fishing trip in Terengganu with the state Chief Minister Dato Seri Idris Jusoh and state EXCO Dato’ Wan Hisham. The Prime Minister thought the monsoon season should be used as an advantage to the state and her people rather than being seen as a hurdle.(Monsoon season last a few months a year in Terengganu mainly between November and January where the fisherman cant go out fishing due to strong waves.)This idea was then brought forward by the state government where later Dato Wan Hisham became the main organiser under T-Best Event which is a company owned by the state to run the event annually.

Ever wonder what it would be like riding on a bike when you are caught in a bad traffice jam? Seeing bikers weaving in and out and moving along smoothly really makes me feel trap. Think about the freedom and the time that you can save. Whenever i am in a car and stuck in bad traffic, i always wonder when i can get out there and ride a bike.
Then ideas of owning a bike started to creep in. First it was getting a motorcycle, but mind you, i have a lust for speed, so something around 250cc would entice me very much but it wasn’t long before reality brought me back to the ground when i look at the measely sum that i am earning. The cheapest 250cc bike that i can get is around 2k and it is also a 10 years plus bike which is not that good looking. Looks aside, the maintainance is another issue.
It really hit me hard as i desperately wanted to go on two wheels. Just when the prospect of getting a bike starts fading away, the idea of owning a bicycle hit me. Furthermore, i could really use a bicycle to keep fit. Hence, i started my mission of searching for a bicycle. Not having an idea of how much a good bicycle would cost, i went from one LBS (local bicycle shop) after another to check out my potential ride.
Dang, was i in for a big surprise. A really good quality bicycle (bike) would cost more than 10k, and for a entry level bike, something around 2k is not considered expensive. Not wanting to give up, i started to do more research on bicycles and look around for cheap bargains. Found a few good ones which is considered cheap (around 1k) but still it is out of my budget.
But about a couple of weeks back, i manage to trace a LBS in Cheras by the name of Tat Seng. Went in to check out the bikes in there. Half expecting to get what i wanted, went into that shop and started asking the sales person a lot of questions. Just when i was about to leave, i chance upon my potential ride and the price is right. Didn’t get it at the moment though as i wanted to go around hoping to find something better.
More work was done and more questions were asked. Then our national car maker pop up in front of me offering their brand of bikes around my budget. Considered for quite some time and in fact was about to get it when i decided to go back to the shop that i saw my future ride. The moment i went in, i had a strong feeling that i would be getting a bike today. The boss (kevin) recognise me and started a very friendly conversation hoping to close a deal as well. Did some bargaining and finally came to the price that i wanted and need i say whats next.
Happy as can be, i would be hitting the roads soon on my new two wheeler ride. Will post up some pictures soon. Well getting the bike is not the end for me though but it is just the begining. So stay tune for more updates on my bike.
